Caribbean Vacations
Fri Sep 3 19:30:28 EDT 2010
A dream for many people the
world over is a Caribbean
vacation. On so many levels, a Caribbean trip
truly is a chance to travel to paradise. With that said, for many people a
Caribbean trip is a budget buster, a holiday that they really cannot manage from
a financial standpoint. In reality, even people who find themselves living on a
tight budget can financially handle a trip to paradise by taking advantage of
last minute Caribbean vacations
.
If you are looking for a cost
efficient way to travel into or through the Caribbean
, there are a number of alternatives available to you. For example, many people are intrigued and excited by the prospect of taking a Caribbean cruise.
In most instances, a cruise
ship will not be fully booked. As with most other modes of travel, cruise ships
experience last minute cancellations. These cruise line companies do not like to
lift anchor when they have open berths on their ships. Thus, these cruise lines
offer last minute Caribbean
vacations
packages to travelers at a markedly reduced cost.
If cruising is not your bag, you might want to consider lovely resorts
found on the major Caribbean
islands. Without fail, there are times during the years
when the proprietors of these resorts simply cannot keep their rooms filled.
Thus, these resorts will partner with airliners and cruise ship
companies to develop last minute Caribbean vacations deals
through which people like you can spend time in the Caribbean
and save money in the process.
Both the British
and American
Virgin Islands
are ideal stops for a person seeking resorts that offer last minute Caribbean vacations packages. In a similar vein, the Bahamas and Bermuda are also reliable areas in which a person can find a wide array of different types of last minute packages -- everything from family vacation packages to adventure trips.
Even smaller islands such as
Bimini
are solid choices when it comes to taking last minute Caribbean vacations.
Indeed, a person usually can get more bang for his or her money at resorts
located on these smaller islands than might otherwise be had at the larger,
touristy islands in the Caribbean basin.
You'll always feel
safe in the Caribbean, often safer than in cities at home.
There's no terrorism and the islanders for the most part are
genuinely welcoming. But, as in anyplace you travel, including the U.S., you
have to be sensible and keep track of your possessions. Most of the islands are
relatively safe as the governments and the locals know that their economies
depend on tourism. But be mindful that you are not a local. Travelers should use
the same common sense that they would use in traveling in a city such as
New
York, Miami,
or LA.
If the traveler is unsure if an area is safe, they should talk to their front
desk or concierge.
The Caribbean
is a beautiful and exotic destination. It has a range of travel
options from rustic to opulent. The same goes for the hotels. The informed
travelers will determine for themselves what they are looking for is it peace
and quiet, adventure travel, night life. What ever it is, the Caribbean has it
and All Vacation Ideas has been developed to provide the
information for the affluent traveler to pick the perfect
destination and resort.
When is the best time of the year to visit the
Caribbean? Unlike the "old days" when winter was considered "the season" for the Caribbean, there is no longer an off season. Many
travelers go in the summer, when their children are off from school or it is
easier for them to take vacations from their businesses. The islands in summer are
often cooler than at home, because of the constant sea breezes
and the days are blissfully long. That said, we think it is
absolute bliss to leave home when there is snow piled head high and, after a
short plane ride, step out into a warm Caribbean breeze
carrying the scent of the sea and flowering plants. The fall hurricane season is
on everyone's minds after the devastation on our own southern coasts, but what
travelers need to realize is that the islands of the Caribbean are very storm
savvy. Resorts and services bounce back within days. And top resorts are liberal
about rescheduling or refunds if your vacation is cancelled because of a
storm.
The Caribbean is not just for the wintering
anymore. They are a great destination in any season.
The spring, summer, and fall also provide
much lower rates and more value.

romantic getaways. A great collection of tips and ideas on romantic getaways, vacations, cruises, honeymoons, beaches, mountains, deserts, skiing destinations and more.
The beaches are soo much nicer in Punta Cana--but some resorts have alot of under tow. there are alot of calmer beach resorts in the area- My hubby likes the waves alot more then me. I prefer a calmer beach.
[5.01.2010] Dominican Republic Beaches
Are the beaches nicer in Punta Cana or Puerto Plata?I'm a big beach person and I love the clear water and nice beaches. Anyone with any info please respond because I'm trying to book a trip soon! Thank you!!
[22.11.2009] Carribean, Mexico or Dominican Republic?
Aruba and DR would be the best bets... DR(especially Punta Cana) would have a "feel" (and price) similar to Rivera Maya. Aruba will be quite a bit different in that you would feel comfortable walking about anywhere on the island and the people all speak English (as well as Dutch and Spanish). The resorts on Aruba are not as large and lavish as the RM and DR resorts and the beach is a bit more crowded, but over the holidays the weather will be considerably nicer (warmer) in Aruba. Prices will be higher also.
[22.11.2009] Carribean, Mexico or Dominican Republic?
We are planning a vacation during the Christmas holidays and would like to know which area someone might feel is best for a beach vacation. We like pretty waters, sitting on the beach, snorkeling!, all inclusive hotels. We have travelled often to Riveria Maya area but would like to try something new.
[12.03.2009] What does the run mean for me?
Running helps resurrect my inner introvert, and I cherish those long runs alone. It gives me opportunity to escape the constant buzz of my home and business lives, and get back to basics. It is a great time for prayer and reflection.
